We welcome the clarity provided on next steps to implement a UK Green Taxonomy and related company disclosures. This will help create investor certainty in the UK’s transition to a net zero economy.
We also welcome the expansion of GTAG’s focus to include nature and adaptation through the creation of the Land, Nature and Adapted Systems Advisory Group (LNAS AG) as a sub-group to GTAG, which will help accelerate investment into sustainable agriculture and fisheries, and into UK resilience to deliver climate and nature goals.
Looking ahead, ensuring both usability and interoperability with other taxonomies remains a priority focus and GTAG will continue provide advice to the UK Government on these issues ahead of the planned consultation in Autumn 2023.
